Hi Balmoral, I am glad you like it. Thanks! I oftentimes let the actors re-word the script, if it helps them memorize it, and occasionally you'll get an adlibbed line in. I can't be sure exactly what she said there but the script says-- "right here, it 'must' be here." Out of the Seth/Maya/Kenna shoot project, I wanted this scene to shine the brightest. I want to portray that Seth thinks his friend is crazy, but at the same time the curiosity is eating at him. He wants to be faithful, but he also wants to know what it's like to touch her, kiss her, be inside of her. I think I could have portrayed that better now that I've shot this scene. I am nit-picking at my own work here, as usual, but I can't stop thinking about what I could have written, and how the story could have unfolded differently. The actors did a great job. I wonder if I could have written Maya's role to portray the societal pressure of a woman from religious background? Women who come from religious families are oftentimes groomed to accept the first boy who falls in love with you, so long as he is a good man, that's God's will. Here we have Maya who has accepted Chad, and he's a good man, but she resents the fact that he has experienced another person. She's taken to befriending Chad's best friend, Seth, and wants to manipulate him into making love to her. "I love Chad," she tells Seth, "and I will be a good wife to him, but I lust for you." I also think that the excitement of almost being caught turns her on, while it terrified Seth. Her religious values are kept so long as no one knows, and she intends to stay faithful to Chad after their wedding day. While the two are having sex she begins to get off on the idea that Seth will be watching her stand up at the alter with Chad, with the fresh memory of being the better man-- the man to take her virginity. I'm going to be watching this scene carefully. If it does well, it will give me the opportunity to write similar character in a better story. I want to make you feel Maya's longing, Seth's struggle with the right thing to do vs. what his body wants to do, and Maya's character will have new antics up her sleeve to separate the man she wants from his wife. I think it's an interesting dynamic, and I hope you guys do too. Balmoral-- you want to know about sleeping pills? I've taken them. I don't recommend them, they knock you out, but they're addictive, and you'll probably feel groggy the next day. It's good for my story, but if you're struggling with sleeplessness, the best thing you can do is wear your body out with exercise during the day, write a to-do list so your mind isn't buzzing about next-day obligations, and go to bed at the same time every night. :) Glad you like the story.
